To take advantage of our service, your pet first needs a tiny microchip containing a permanent and unique ID number. HomeAgain National Pet Recovery Database
Your pet’s listing in the HomeAgain National Pet Recovery Database contains his unique ID number, photo, and description, as well as your contact information. Remember to keep your contact info up-to-date, so our specialists can help reunite you with your lost dog or cat.
Lost Pet Specialists
HomeAgain Lost Pet Specialists are available 24/7 to assist you if your pet goes missing. By calling our toll-free number, you have immediate access to trained counselors who send out Rapid Lost Pet Alerts and will personally guide you through the emotional process of finding your lost dog or cat.
Rapid Lost Pet Alerts
The minute you report your missing pet, HomeAgain’s Lost Pet Specialists send Rapid Lost Pet Alerts with a Lost Pet Poster to members of our Pet Recovery Network within a 25-mile radius. Our missing pet recovery network includes over 20,000 veterinarians & animal shelters and over 300,000 volunteer PetRescuers nationally, ready to be on the lookout for your pet.
Medical Insurance for Lost Pets
Medical Insurance for Lost Pets is included with your annual HomeAgain membership. Offered by PetFirst Healthcare, it covers up to $3,000 (less a $50 deductible) of medical treatment your dog or cat suffers while lost. Coverage is not automatic—once enrolled in the HomeAgain service, you must call to activate the Medical Insurance for Lost Pets coverage before your pet goes missing.
24/7 Emergency Medical Hotline
In emergency situations, get telephone assistance provided by licensed ASPCA veterinarians (a $60 value, free with your HomeAgain membership). Essential for pet medical emergencies far from home or after business hours, this service delivers potentially life-saving guidance from veterinarians when you need it most.
Travel Assistance for Found Pets
If your lost dog or cat is found more than 500 miles away from home, HomeAgain will cover up to $500 in travel expenses to have the found dog or cat flown home.
